O3-12D1i and O3-12D1D: 12 DS1 Extensions over OC3

Thousands of Pulsecom O3-4D1 DS1 Extension modules have been delivering DS1 services across America without the need for conventional, large and expensive systems. The O3-12D1 modules triples the density in the same form factor.

The O3-12D1 modules, like all Pulsecom Easy Access products, are self-contained and functionally optimized for service. There are no systems or common cards or software to stock, install and turn-up. Everything is accomplished in one module.  And as your needs grow, the architecture permits modules to be replaced or added eliminating reliance upon "platform capabilities".  Pulsecom's patent pending "Optionless SONET" also eliminates the need for OC3/OC48 provisioning making turn-up fast and easy. Since this is true SONET, the network side of the fiber link can be integrated directly into a SONET mux. Pulsecom modules incorporate modular optics, so 1310nm wavelengths, single fiber transceivers, or CWDM transceivers can be selected on a site-by-site basis or easily changed to improve facility utilization.

The O3-12D1D incorporates the additional capability of remote management.  The SONET Data Communications Channel, DCC, allows communciations from a NOC or CO through your existing SONET muxes to the O3-12D1D with TL-1 support.  Provisioning, maintenance, alarm reporting and operational statistics are available from almost any point in your network.

+/-24 of -48VDC powering - The O3-12D1 can be powered by +/-24VDC (typical in cell site environments) or -48VDC (the standard telco voltage).

Standard mapping of DS1s - Standard STS-1 VT 1.5 mapping enables direct integration with SONET muxes.

Loopback support - Remote in-band/out-of-band DS1 loopbacks and local loopbacks simplify troubleshooting.


Standard NCTE form factor - The O3-12D1 can often be installed in existing widely deployed Type 200 or Type 400 shelves, or it can be installed in one of Pulsecom's housings for rack, wall or DLC RTs or a locking CPE enclosure.

Plug-and-play migration - DS3 and 10/100/1000Mb Ethernet services can be added simply by adding or replacing a module.

The T1-BOB is an optional test module.  It connects directly to the O3-12D1 modules and presents the individual T1 Transmit and Receive signals on Bantam jacks.  Click here for more information.
