High Definition Program Channel Access for Studio to Transmitter Links

Radio stations are quickly implementing HD RadioTM capabilities to improve sound quality and increase programming capabilities.

Existing Program Channel Access Units do not support the HD features.  HD quality Studio to Transmitter Links, STLs, are required.  Pulsecom's new HD-PCAU meets this challenge.

HD-PCAU Features

  • 20kHz apt-XTM audio transport for analog, digital, and stero applications (GR-337-CORE)
  • Supports RBDS (radio broadcast data systems) transmissions with
Integrated PAD (Program Associated Data) interface
Integrated SIS (Station Information Service) interface
  •  Accepts AES3 digital clock input
  •  An HD-PCAU 20kHz HD RadioTM Studio to Transmitter Link (STL) requires less than half the bandwidth and network resources necessary to provision a 15kHz STL with traditional (WECo, etc.) Program Channel Units
